On this week’s episode of the “Writer Craft Podcast” Valerie and I discuss why as a writer, you need to read… and, why it’s so very important to read like a writer.
If you’re a new writer, you have probably been told you need to read in order to be successful. I can still remember my High School creative writing teacher, Mrs. Schubert, telling our class that.
But what does that mean? How does one read like a writer?
Valerie and I dive into the topic in this episode. We talk about why you should read (here’s a hint, reading is fun). We discuss strategies for deciding what to read, how to read it, and, finally, how to deal with expectations.
For my weekly personal note, I’ve completed more work. On Thursday morning, I finished another short story, that makes two this year, and earlier this week, a feature length screenplay.
The beginning of 2022 has been fantastic and I’m looking forward to more of this!
